24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation: Risk-Free Cancellation is a part of Customer Commitment for customers who book directly on delta.com or through the Fly Delta app. Once you've purchased an eligible eTicket, you have up to 24 hours after Booking to cancel it with no penalty. When a ticket is canceled within 24 hours of purchase, Delta will refund the purchase price, however some banks and credit card companies may hold funds on the card. No Show Policy: Plans can change at any time. In that case, please cancel or make changes in My Trips or the Fly Delta app before the flight departs so that the value of your ticket remains. Any tickets purchased after March 31, 2021, that have not been shown up for a flight, which have not been changed or cancelled prior to departure, will be forfeited, and all remaining flights on the itinerary will be canceled. 1. What if I did not purchase my ticket via delta.com but through a third-party travel agency?
Whenever you need to change or cancel a ticket you have purchased from a third-party travel agency, please contact your travel agent directly.
2. I purchased Basic Economy; can I change or cancel my flight?
Basic Economy fares and tickets purchased directly from Delta are eligible for the 24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation policy. In this case, you have up to 24 hours after Booking to cancel your ticket without any fees and receive a full refund.
For flights originating in North America, Basic Economy tickets cannot be refunded or changed. For added flexibility, you can cancel your Basic Economy ticket to receive an eCredit minus a cancellation charge*, and apply the remaining value towards a future Delta flight.
The Basic Economy Award Ticket is also non-refundable and non-changeable; if you cancel your ticket for a fee, that fee will be deducted from the value of your ticket, and the remaining monies will be credited back into the SkyMiles account.
Tickets Purchased On or Before April 30, 2021
You may make changes or cancel your ticket if you purchased it under COVID-19 travel waivers prior to April 30, 2021. These tickets are not subject to cancellation or change fees.
3. I am changing my flight, why am I still being charged?
Despite the fact that Delta no longer charges a change fee for tickets Main Cabin or higher departing from North America, it may happen that your new flight costs more than your original one. In such cases, you would be charged for the difference in price. Basic Economy fares, however, are non-changeable and non-refundable.
